Gold Coast places to eat
Breakfast & Brunch Spots
The Paddock Bakery
Quite possibly the most Instagrammable cafe on the Gold Coast, Paddock Bakery melts our hearts with every visit. Miami’s lovingly-restored weatherboard cottage is pretty as a postcard with a shady picket fence-lined courtyard which surely harbours pixies and unicorns after dark (okay, we can only dream, right?). Come for Paddock’s straight-from-the-oven baked goodies, artisan bread loaves, dessert pots, famous dippy eggs and cosy nooks backed by sunny windows.
Elk Espresso
Pastel plates, edible flowers and seasonal menus; there’s little wonder why Elk Espresso is a favourite breakfast restaurant of many Gold Coast locals. A short stroll from the beach and the main Broadbeach thoroughfare, with great coffee and salty vibes to boot. They're plating up season dishes on their ever-changing menu from Black Forrest waffles to blueberry panna cotta brekky bowls that are almost too pretty to eat. As far as we’re concerned, Elk Espresso can do no wrong and is hands down one of the best cafes for breakfast in Broadbeach.
The Loose Moose
The Loose Moose is a man cave of hangover cures, shiny buns and raw bricks. If your early AM meal doesn’t involve one of their 150 whiskies or 25 tap beers, you’ll be ample satisfied with their Nutella waffles and salted pop caramel freakshakes. Treat yo-self! Head here for some of the best breakfasts in Broadbeach.
Koi
Apart from offering prime position for everyone’s favourite sport of people watching, Koi has a menu worthy of an indecisive meltdown. Caramel pecan pancakes, halloumi benedict, turmeric quinoa porridge… need we say more? How ‘bout breakfast gnocchi with wild mushrooms, brussels sprouts, basil pesto, roasted garlic puree? Oh, yes, Koi is a hot contender for the best breakfasts in Broadbeach winner.
The Cardamom Pod
Known for their irresistible buffet of Indian food, heartwarming salads and a cake cabinet of dreams, Cardamon Pod’s weekend breakfasts have a lot to be overshadowed by. But for those in the know, this is by far the best cafe for breakfast in Broadbeach for vegetarian and vegan folk, in fact their weekend breakfast menu is entirely plant-based. Brightly coloured smoothie bowls bursting with fresh fruits and blueberry topped pancake—the Cardamon Pod has our stamp of approval.
Bam Bam Bakehouse
At Bam Bam, the hero is the humble croissant. Using the finest quality butter and flour, it takes the team three days to make one of these flaky, buttery beauties. Though, the goodness extends well beyond that. The cabinet is popping with mouth-watering pastries across the day, from crisp choux bombs to decadent eclairs, indulgent filled cruffins and plenty of innovative limited-edition creations. You can even order your favourites from the online store before you come so you don’t miss out!
Dining Restuarants
Miss Moneypenny's
Nestled in the heart of Broadbeach, Miss Moneypenny’s coastal colour palette is dreamy and the styling is elegantly timeless. From the stunning terracotta lined bar, to the walnut tables, plush leathered grey and seafoam blue couch seating—Miss Moneypenny’s is chic, grown up and very classy. Now that you've lusted over the interior, let's move onto the food.
Hideaway Kitchen And Bar
Gold Coast’s Asian food scene is oh-so-hot right now and one of the local favourites has got to be Broadbeach’s funky Hideaway Kitchen & Bar. Hidden in plain sight on the Gold Coast Highway, don’t be dissuaded by the bland exterior. Inside is a vibrant mix of neon signage, graffiti, booths for groups and, out back, a buzzing alfresco garden with rows of umbrellas suspended overhead.
Kiyomi
If you’ve a penchant for top-notch Japanese food—and seriously, who doesn’t— then you absolutely must add Kiyomi to your Gold Coast dining bucket list. A refined masterpiece within The Star’s culinary crown, this is fine-dining that oozes style.
Moo Moo
Date night, girl's night or dinner with the lads, fanciful Moo Moo is great for all occasions. Enjoy a cheese plate and oysters, then choose from their extensive list of wines or overlook Broadbeach’s Victoria Park while enjoying Moo Moo’s signature steak. If cocktails are your style, an Apple Vineyard Bellini or espresso caramel margarita is a must. Don’t leave Moo Moo without at least a bite of their house made chocolate honeycomb or choc fudge sundae. If you’re on the hunt for one of the best steak restaurants on the Gold Coast, well, you’ve found it.
Cha Cha
Cha Cha in Broadbeach is our other dining room. There’s a saying in our house, ‘Let’s eat at Jack’s tonight.’ We’re talking about Jack and Maiko Suzue’s restaurant ‘Cha Cha’. It’s our home away from home, not in the ‘dress up, let’s celebrate’ sort of way, more like the place we can rely on to get a tasty quick meal that’s good for us. And of course there’s the cheerful banter with Jack that accompanies the experience.
Gemelli's Italian
Gemelli simply translates from Italian to twins, which is exactly what we are. Coming from a family of Italian heritage we were brought up to appreciate good food and most importantly, how to cook it! Whether it be the annual sauce and salami making with Nonno, or simply sharing a glass of wine with family and friends, we have always had a passion for Italian food and culture.
Mamasan
Mamasan Kitchen + Bar is a unique dining destination located in 'The Oracle' Broadbeach. Delivering an exciting modern Asian menu focused on share plates and served alongside Asian inspired cocktails, premium wines, spirits, tap beer and sake. Focussing on share food philosophy, a contemporary pan Asian menu is delivered from cuisines including Chinese, Korean, Thai and Vietnamese.
SOCIAL
Located on glittering Oracle Avenue in Broadbeach, Social Eating House is definitely not somewhere to go for a quick bite, for the simple reason you would not be doing it justice. If you go to Social Eating House, clear your schedule, strap yourself in and bask in the glory of European cuisine cooked to absolute perfection, a warm buzzing atmosphere and cocktails so intricate the mixologist personally explains them in detail.
Kurrawa Surf Club
Located on the beach in the heart of Broadbeach, our brand-new clubhouse boasts an uninterrupted 230-degree view of the magnificent Pacific Ocean and Gold Coast coastline. Our chefs use only the freshest ingredients to provide a broad range of meals, including vegetarian and gluten free options. Our bar offers a wide range of Australian wines, local and imported beers, and our signature cocktail collection however the best part about choosing to dine with us, is that you are choosing to support a Community Club.
ORZO
Our nourishing pasta is crafted in-house daily by our team of inspired chefs, using nothing but premium ‘00’ flour, imported all the way from Italy itself. Bringing you a level of authenticity that is difficult to find on the Gold Coast. At ORZO, we believe that it is the little details that make all the difference.
Maggie Choo
Inspired by the sensuality and quirkiness of the street food and hawker markets of Bangkok, Vietnam, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Hong Kong the Gennari Group is bringing a new next-level Asian Fusion restaurant to the Gold Coast for quick bites or big nights
The Cuban
If vibrant food in a atmospheric, playful venue is your thing, you need to dine at The Cuban in Broadbeach. As the name suggests, the Cuban brings traditional Cuban cuisine, albeit with some modern twists, to the Gold Coast. Some must-try dishes include the Paella Cubana, Ropa Vieja and share-style tapas, all finished with delectable desserts and authentic Cuban cocktails.
Bars & Breweries
Garden Kitchen & Bar
There’s a lot to love about the new-look The Star Gold Coast, who’s been attracting locals back in droves thanks to the swanky alfresco setting of Garden Kitchen & Bar. This leafy, sun-drenched outdoor bar is a hotspot for Sunday drinks or Saturday night cocktails; basically any occasion where you wanna frock up and live it up. Frose, anyone?
Aloha Bar & Dining
We don’t like to play favourites (okay, who are we kidding?!), but this hidden back alley hangout is high on our list of the best bars in Broadbeach. Aloha Bar & Dining crams in fun and frivolities on the reg; nights filled with nautical and tiki paraphernalia, treasure chest cocktails and pineapple everything. Hungry? Check out their Insta page for a menu littered with Caribbean, Hawaiian and Asian musings, including ramen, oyster, dumpling and bao specials throughout the week.
Nineteen At The Star
Everyone knows the wildest nights start the classiest, so if you’re looking to kick off your evening with an aura of sophistication (it’ll go out the window later), head to the mind-blowing Nineteen at The Star lounge bar on, you guessed it, the 19th-floor of The Star Gold Coast's new six-star hotel, The Darling. Sadly we’ll never afford to stay the night in this crazy high-roller hotel, but doesn’t mean we can’t pretend with an evening elevated above the glittering lights of Broadbeach. Nineteen at The Star is a standout among the best bars in Broadbeach. #makeitrain
Burleigh Brewing Company
Established in 2006 by Peta and Brennan Fielding, Burleigh Brewing Company is said to be the one that began the Gold Coast’s love affair with craft beer 15 years ago. Unsurprisingly, they’ve won a slew of national and international awards, including World Beer Award Gold Medals, not to mention they beat out the Germans themselves for Best German Beer at the 2012 World Beer Cup – an impressive feat. Head into their brewery and taphouse for some live music, delicious food truck eats and good times.
The Roosevelt Lounge
No expense was spared to create The Roosevelt Lounge, a game-changing 1930s American-inspired lounge bar and restaurant in Broadbeach. If you’re not made of money, you’ll definitely feel like it after a night spent lounging around looking glamorous in sinkable leather chesterfields and red velvet booths with cocktails made at your table.
Soho Place
Soho Place in Broadbeach was the Coast's first official 'small bar'. Operating completely without a kitchen or food menu, step through the ‘hidden in plain sight’ red telephone box entryway and you’ll be stepping into a window-less vortex where hours may mysteriously disappear. You have been warned.
