PIX Workshops - Thursday 15th May
Gary Sansom Ventilation Workshop
Thursday 16th May9.00am - 11.00am$100 AUD
Special Guest: Mike Czarick
Mr Michael Czarick is an Extension Engineer and Senior Public Service Associate from the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and is a well-known and regular presenter at prior PIX conferences and Broiler Workshops. Mike travels the world presenting and educating on poultry house environmental control that best benefits the birds and energy conservation.
How do we best balance air speed and evaporative cooling (cool cell use) in hot and humid conditions to give the birds the best environment in an energy and cost efficient way?
Can I make the birds’ environment worse, and so affect production performance, if I incorrectly use cool cells during hot weather? All fans on before cool cells – yes or no?
Migration barriers get in the way in the sheds – do we really need them? Why?
Building longer and wider sheds must be better for production cost efficiency, but are there any limits to this from a shed design, engineering and ventilation efficiency perspective?
These questions will be answered by Mike during his 2 hour broiler workshop, backed by science but in an easily understandable way.

- Complete the assessment in the following 6 weeks after the training, which we expect will take approximately 3 hours. The assessment has :
- Knowledge assessments that are a combination of knowledge questions and short workplace projects
- Practical assessments that require you to complete small videos of you demonstrating your skills to identify hazards and put controls in place to ensure safe work practices
4 Up Skilling will provide 4 x 30 minute assessment support sessions during the 4 weeks after the training (one per week for 4 weeks). These will also be recorded and sent to you via a YouTube link to support you to complete your assessment. You will also have access to contact a 4 Up Skilling coordinator for support at any time during the 6-week program.
